Afro-Academic Cultural Technological Scientific Olympics
ACT-SO is a national academic and talent achievement program for high school students to compete in 5 major categories: STEM, Humanities, Performing Arts, Visual Arts, and Business. Students begin their ACT-SO journey at the local competition level by selecting up to 3 competitions. Local GOLD MEDAL winners advance to the National ACT-SO Competition to vie for cash prizes, award packages, scholarships, and more!
NEW! 2022 Akron ACT-SO Sojourner Truth Legacy Showcase
The 2022 Akron ACT-SO program is proud to partner with the Summit Suffrage Centennial Committee to celebrate the enduring life and legacy of Sojourner Truth. Summit County middle school and high school students are invited to submit their modern interpretation of Sojourner Truth's "Ain't I A Woman" speech in ACT-SO style! Entries will be displayed throughout Women's History Month in March 2022.
This showcase runs in conjunction with the 2022 Akron ACT-SO program.
